Nar

Nar

90’s Sacramento legends Nar have a muddy history, peppered with drunkeness, laziness, line-up changes, false starts, tours and records that never happened and other disasters typical of the area. But one thing is for certain and that is Scott Miller (the “other” Scott Miller, not the dude from Game Theory) can write a catchy fucking pop song. The on-and-off-again trio recorded a heaping pile of songs from ‘90-97, releasing a handful of 7″ singles and compilation tracks that are all pretty much long gone. Sloppy punkish pop (not pop-punk) with an ear towards the bouncing playfulness and wit of the Television Personalities. Members of Nar have reappeared in like-minded projects such as Bright Ideas, Ski Instructors and the brand new and yet unrecorded English Singles.

hey, as the nar drummer(and ski instructors, bright ideas, english singles etc) i would like to clarify that nar had only one line up change, a bass player (hardly a muddy history), we were drunk but not detrimentally nor were we particularly lazy. as for false starts and tours and records that never happened, i am not sure what that means. we played a shitload of shows and recorded tons of songs over ten years. other than that, it is nice to see someone writing about us “legends” but i think sacramento music is suffering from stereotypes (typical of that area . . ) anyway, just thought i would chime in-and thanks for the english singles promo! nar has a compehensive cd available through our myspace too- take care
