Blues Control
This Blues Control record crept up on me over a few listens, but once I was hooked, I was hooked. Foggy, fuzzed out guitars, spacey electronics and a layer or two of assorted noise-making junk makes for a hazy head spin into a world founded by Faust, This Heat and the like. The hissing, psychedelic atmosphere created by this duo creates reminds me a bit of Flying Saucer Attack as well. I’ve seen this being held up as one of the year’s best, definitely in my top 10 to put on when coming off a bender.

agreed. blues control is so good. eno guitars, droned out drums, good jams. the record store clerks psychedelic wet dream.
they just played with pink reason and psychedelic horseshit last week in new york which, of course, are two of the other best bands out there right now. and i hope to see them with der tpk soon.
have you heard the split with heavy winged? another good jam.

totally, i missed the Little Claw/Pink Reason/Psychedelic Horseshit/Intelligence show in Sacramento, but Psych Horseshit are on my list for an upcoming Unpiano posting. love the Pink Reason records (posted about them earlier) but the two times I’ve seen them live they’ve been TERRIBLE - such a bummer. I’m looking up that split… - also, check out that Factums LP on Siltbreeze (crap, that’s another post I need to do) if you like the trippy drone.
