Sensitive Rock

Men Crying //photo by sam taylor-wood EDIT: I wrote sort of a mean review before, and while I stand by my calling out of sensitive-emo bands that are too whiny for their own good, the bands I posted below all write pretty good songs and deserve a break. Someone posted a comment saying that I should have gone after Hootie and the Blowfish instead, but that would have been too easy (not to mention that I would have had to post their music on my site). Anyways, you make up your own mind about this one.. Teenage Fanclub - Your Love Is The Place Where I Come From Clem Snide (Eef Barzelay) - I Love The Unknown Nada Surf - Blonde On Blonde

i think you’re really harsh. Nada Surf is huge here in France (i think because we are incredibly romantics) and Blonde on blonde is a wonderful song. There is a lot of shit on MTV or VH1, why the hell did you choose these 3 great bands? If you want some crap you should have picked any song by Sting or Hootie and the Blowfish (so american).
Don’t worry i still love your blog.

I think it’s a given that Hootie and the Blowfish are crap.. that’s too easy. I wanted to call out some bands that somehow hide under the tent of cool indie rock. I just wanted to drag them out of the tent for a minute and kick them.

Yeah it’s harsh, but what can you do? Everybody can’t like everything..
