The Entrance Band

The Entrance Band recently released their new self-titled album and it shreds. Really, really hard. Guy Blakeslee had a bit of a rough start and I remember not being so into the band (formerly known as just Entrance) when I heard them at first. This time around they maintain all of the dark, bluesy feeling as before but with more fuzz and an optimistic tone throughout. I have yet to hear such a well written, tightly played album this year and I’m kicking myself for not seeing them when they came through town last week. I like to imagine mountains crumbling and blackness creeping across the earth when I hear these songs. They are often referred to as apocalyptic-psych and for good reason.
