I don’t know if it was because I was just in Chicago or because I have been thinking about Baltimore and Philly a lot these days, but I can’t stop listening to this Bmore remix of ‘Reckoner’. It doesn’t even really do anything fancy, but it makes riding your bike through traffic seem like an amusement park ride.
My friend Knucklehead sent me these tracks he has been making a while back and I slept on it because I’m getting old and slow. It goes really well with that Girl Talk post I did a week or so ago and I like it more and more with every listen. Look, the thing is I love house music. I may not talk about it all that much but it’s true none the less. Manic vocals, samples from the 90’s, all that good stuff is contained in these tracks and it made me even happier when he told me how they were made. Fuck a fancy sequencer is all I have to say.

You know how you dig through your records and find stuff you forgot you had? Why do I even buy records that I don’t play for that long? Where do I get the money for all this anyway.. jesus! Whatever, the point is that I found this Seeds record the other day and I have been playing this song non-stop for about 3 weeks now. I’m going to dj on Friday and play it out for the first time, we’ll see how it goes. Maybe I’ll even play it 2 or 3 times depending on how drunk I am.

I grabbed this Diplo remix of Spank Rock’s ‘Put That Pussy On Me’ from the consistently great music blog Gorilla Vs. Bear. Diplo sampled the same song and flipped it kind of crazy.
Chicago! Damn I love that place.. leave it to the midwest to create a dance craze that mixes hip hop and Chicago house music. You might have seen some of those ‘juking and jiting’ videos on 106/Park or floating around the internet already, but I dare you to try and get Dude N Nem’s ‘Watch My Feet’ out of your head.
God I fucking love dance music. I don’t know how I ended up in this indie rock hell where everyone is scared of dancing (I think they’re called pussies). I admit that I may be too shy to get down right off the bat, but give me a good enough record or like three beers and I’ll bust out moves from when I was 16.
