Pedro The Lion
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009This is one of those anomaly songs where a notoriously shy and shoegazy band gets all tough for a second and it actually works. It reminds me of artist Jeffrey Brown who drew comics like Every Girl Is The End Of The World For Me and Miniature Sulk which were super emo stories where the main character is a big pussy. After getting a ton of shit for it, one day he came out with a zine called Be A Man, where he took the same stories and made the main character the exact opposite as before. Needles to say I liked the new comic much better. Anyways, I’m losing the point.. Pedro The Lion is bearable here in a great narrative which also happens to be a cover of an instrumental song by The Six Parts Seven. Get that? They took a song and then reworked it and wrote another song over it. Woah..
