Last time my mother was in town she and my aunt took us through to Livermore to check out the original family graveyard. My family on my mother’s side (The Cockertons) is actually pretty deep in the East Bay, what with her growing up in Walnut Creek and all. Needless to say, it was pretty intense. I was able to see my grandfather’s grandfather’s grave (that’s not a typo) and right there on the gravestone it says “Native of England”.. Yikes, stuff like that has a way of blowing your mind and reminding you of who you are. Anyways, thanks ma.
